P-Day Post #10

So I finally decided what I wanted to do for P-day. I am researching Canadian Desserts. I wanted to do something different so thats why I picked that. Also,I picked that peticurly place because I have family from there and family that live there. So what I have been researching for the past few P-days is different desserts from there. The five desserts I have researched is Butter Tarts, Nanaimo Bars, Canada Squares, Dates Squares, Pouding Chameur. Whats in the Butter Tarts is butter, sugar, syrup, and egg filled into a flaky pastry and baked until the filling is semi-solid with a crunchy top. One of my favorites that sounds the best is the Nanaimo Bars. The Nanaimo Bars requires no baking, But a cool fun fact is that they are named after the west coast city of Nanaimo, British Columbia. The ingredients for them is wafer crumb-based layer topped by a layer of custard flavoured butter icing which is covered with melted chocolate made from chocolate squares. I hope you like my presentation and I hope you come! :):)

I didn’t just pick Canadian desserts to do. I picked to do Canadian desserts because I have family from Canada. My mom’s parents are from Canada and some of my mom’s siblings were born there. I wanted to do Canadian desserts to know more about what they make and what they have to eat for desserts because I love dessert foods. I also thought it would be fun to know about the different recipes to know how to make these desserts. One dessert I have researched that sounds good is the butter tart. One thing that I also realized is that other countries are more fancier with there food and desserts. I’m excited to learn more about Canadian desserts and learn how to make them. :):)

The topic I want to focus on for my presentation is baking. I picked baking for my topic because I like to bake and I like to try whatever I bake after its done. Whenever I hang out with my friend what we find fun to do together is to bake dessert kinds of food. Baking is a fun thing that I like to do with my friend, but I’ve never really researched it. Specifically, I will research about different kinds of Canadian desserts and what is in the desserts. I picked Canadian desserts because its interesting reading about different desserts in a different country. I think that the desserts are going to be different than our desserts that we have. I am going to demonstrate what I have learned about by doing a PowerPoint presentation.

P-day Post #3

The topic I researched was famous Photographers. A few interesting things I discovered was that I researched Elliott Erwitt learned photography and filmmaking until 1950. During that same time he worked as an assistant photographer. He’s been doing photography since he was 10 years old. He likes taking pictures of dogs and humans. A question that popped into my head was how do people choose what they like to take a picture of? My biggest challenge so far is I would like to take pictures of anything.

P-day #2

The topic I’m interested in is photography. One interesting thing I learned is the first photograph was taken in 1826 or 1827. Another thing is the first photographs were printed on metal. Last, some photographers have digital portfolios that helps them show the work they’ve done. The most famous photographer that is most recognized is Ansel Adams. One of the sources I used is www.picturecorrect.com. This is the best source because it showed all of the famous photographers and why they were famous. One question I thought of is how did they print the pictures on metal? The 3 topics I am researching are the history of photography, digital photography and famous photographers. One way I would present the final project is a slide show on google docs.

Story Board That Reflection

a.) -In Baja California it is very arid.
b.) -In Baja California they listen to musica nortena (northern music is music that incorporates modern rock and and cumbia into its music. This music is well known in Baja California.

2.) I think this activity helped me learn a lot about Mexico. How it helped me was when we got to pick a place in Mexico and then do research on it then make a story board about the notes we researched.

3.) Yes, I would recommend this project to someone else. Why I would recommend it because

In the history of Christmas my little brother and I we wake up early and then look at all of our presents that are wrapped. Then I try to fall back asleep and then wake up when its time. After when its 7:00am we wake everybody else up and then we wait for them to come into the living room and open there things. Then my mom gets my brothers ipad or gets the video camera and records us opening our presents. Then when I’m opening my presents no matter what I get I always have a smile on! If I get clothes or shoes or something I always wear it. Then at dinner time we go to my grandmothers house and eat there. On Christmas eve at night as a family we drive around and look at everybody’s Christmas lights.

Blogging Challenge #5 activity #1

What I learned is that computers are powerful tools for creation. With computers you can make more than one copy but when you draw you can only make one picture once. Anything that you make on the computer you can send it on the computer but you can’t when you do it with something different. Think before you post something.

Blogging Challenge #4 activity #2 things

I didn’t find myself on online. Something that surprised me was that I was not an old guy. Something else that surprised me was that I was not an elf on the shelf book. There is good things and bad things that I’m not on online. One good reason is there is bad people out there and I wouldn’t want those people to know who I am. I also would want people to know who I am because if i did good things I want people to know me for my good things.
